My wonderful wife bought GF8434 for me, a series 3 from 1973. That makes it older than me by about three years.
Being tall, I've had to change some minor things.
The motor is a Holden 186 and runs on LPG or petrol.
Two months into owning the car, I drove to Oxford and back. 88 miles (according to google earth) read only 63 on the odometer. So all my mileage readings were under by 24%. So far the worst tank has returned 15.11 MPG / 5.29 Km/L and the best tank was 20.2 MPG / 7.06 Km/L
In December 2006, LPG is 92c/L whereas petrol is $1.42/L so financially the land rover is cheaper to fuel than our 1.8 L 4 cylinder 1990 mazda sedan.
